A.) The HEAT FACTORY warmers are a soft, lightweight pouch containing a mixture of iron powder, charcoal, salt, sawdust, and vermiculite. When exposed to the air the ingredients combine and react... an oxidation process takes place producing heat.

Q.) How long does a Warmer last?

A.) There are several sizes, but generally they last anywhere from 8 to 24 hours. Our mini warmers are designed to provide up to 8 hours of warmth and large size warmers provide up to 24 hours of continuous warmth. In addition we make a 12 hour glove size. Q.) What is the difference between a Foot or Toe Warmer and a Hand Warmer?

A.) FootWarmers and ToeWarmers are designed to work in restricted air such as a boot. The convenient half-moon shaped ToeWarmer has a thin adhesive layer that comfortably holds the ToeWarmer under the toes outside the sock. The FootWarmer gets slightly warmer and is designed to fit into the cavity of the HEAT FACTORY Air Channel Footbeds. Foot Warmers last up to 6 hours.

Q.) What if I don't need the whole 12 hours at once?

A.) HEAT FACTORY warmers are specially designed for a unique "Stop and Go" process for conservation. If heating time is not complete, all HEAT FACTORY warmers may be saved by placing the warmer in an airtight container (like a film container). The remaining time can be used later (preferably within one week). For example: A 12 hour Glove-size warmer can be used for 6 hours one day, stored in an airtight container, then used again for approximately 6 hours another day within the week.

Q.) Are they safe for children?

A.) Yes, they are safe for children. HEAT FACTORY warmers are completely nontoxic and totally safe with proper supervision. We have a special line of warmers specially designed for children called our Warm Buddies 'N Pals™ Warmers.

Q.) What kind of clothing is best for using HEAT FACTORY Warmers?

A.) HEAT FACTORY Warmers can be used in pockets of jackets, vests or pants, and we have an entire line of Secret Pocket Clothing, with built-in warmer pockets, for adults and children. Warmers work well in most pockets.
